Peer advising gives you the chance to get the perspective of other current iSchool upperclassmen on a variety of issues pertaining to your academic planning.
Note that peer advising is NOT the same as meeting with an iSchool Academic Advisor. Rather, peer advising is meant to be a supplement to regular academic advising - giving you a student perspective.
Common topics of discussion:
- What classes should you take?
- What classes did the peer advisors enjoy that would help with your pathway?
- What opportunities/internships/etc. should you look into?
- What are some iSchool tools/resources that could help you?
- Exploring different pathways
- Choosing courses for upcoming semesters based on your course plan
- Running degree audits
- General iSchool student experience, involvement, and tips for success
