Data protection and privacy is a growing concern in a world nervous about the growth of “surveillance capitalism” and other potential abuses of access to personal data. This lecture series, which is co-sponsored by the iSchool and the European Union Center at the University of Illinois, brings together campus and outside experts on informatics, cultural ideas about privacy, legal compliance and best practices, as well as global governance.
We have scheduled 3 lectures for this semester with the first one being on March 2nd , the second one on April 2nd , and the third one in early May.
