“New Life: New Room”: Making Homemade Space For/With Black Girls
During this talk, Blair will interactively engage her current exhibition on view at the Krannert Art Museum, Homemade With Love: More Living Room.
Homemade is a multimedia publicly engaged installation exploring Black girls, women and femmes everyday interior life and creativity and what it means to make space for it, specifically in a museum context.
Blair will talk more about the exhibition, curator decisions; and show clips of current films, artworks, and installation views. Then, she will engage attendees in critical art practice and dreaming about Black femme intergenerational creative space and new life building.
