The UICOMR Department of Family and Community Medicine's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, along with the Student Committee on Diversity and Inclusion and the Latino Medical Student Association, are sponsoring a virtual talk on Latinx health disparities by Olga Garcia-Bedoya, MD.
Dr. Garcia-Bedoya is an associate professor in the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago who is a full-time internal medicine physician, researcher, and educator specializing in adult medicine, chronic illnesses such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and preventive health care.
Her medical interests include global health and health disparities. As a physician, her focus is "cultural medicine," researching the intersection of health, humanism, and culture.
Join us for an informative talk about identifying, understanding, and addressing barriers that prevent Latino/Hispanic groups from obtaining optimal care.
