Please join AMWA and the Pediatrics Interest Group for a trivia night to benefit MERIT! The Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT) is a child-centered, community-based program dedicated to providing all children suspected of being physically or sexually abused or neglected with timely expert medical evaluations and treatment, as well as serving the community as a resource for prevention, research, and education.
When? Tuesday, February 4th, 2020. Doors open at 5:30PM and trivia begins at 6PM.
Where? The Norwegian (1402 N Main St., Rockford, IL 61103). Food will be served and there will be a cash bar.
How to participate: You may sign up as teams of 4-6 people. This event is open to all UIC students and faculty, as well as significant others not affiliated with UIC. In order to qualify for participation, your team must donate at minimum one item from MERIT’s Amazon wishlist. When donating, please write “UIC Trivia Night” and your name in the “gift message” box so that we can keep track of all donations. Additional proof of donation (such as a receipt) can be forwarded to Jinit Desai (jsdesai2@uic.edu). The team who has the most donations by Feb. 4 will get five extra trivia points added to their final score, so please feel free to encourage friends and family to donate to MERIT on behalf of your team!
If you prefer to donate tangible items (kid-friendly snacks or juice boxes) rather than ordering off of Amazon, please notify Lauren Rivkin (lrivki2@uic.edu) or Ally Bochenek (aboche2@uic.edu) and bring your donation with you on the night of the event.
