Working with hospital-based teams, the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) in 2020 launched a statewide obstetric initiative to implement American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health guidelines. This presentation will address facilitating clinical culture change that promotes and supports vaginal birth; developing standardized processes for induction and labor support; and developing standardized protocols for identification and response to labor challenges/abnormalities. 

To be presented by Amanda Dhuyvetter MD, FACOG. Dr. Dhuyvetter works as a generalist OB for Cook county Health and Hospital systems.  Completed residency from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago IL in 2016, started working for CCHHS after graduation. She is Co-medical director of labor and delivery and Director of OB Simulation for Department and IDPH Stroger Perinatal network. Currently involved with ILPQC coaching team for Promoting Vaginal Birth. 

 OBJECTIVES:

  1. Improve the Culture of Care, Awareness, and Education for Cesarean Reduction
  2. Support Intended Vaginal Birth
  3. Manage Labor Abnormalities and Safely Reduce Cesarean Births
