Annie Abbott
Teaching Associate Professor, Spanish and Portuguese
Director of Undergraduate Studies, Spanish and Portuguese
Associate Professor, Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies
While multilingualism, immigration and language learning are currently under attack in our politics and our educational systems, Annie Abbott’s teaching fosters ties between our campus and the rich linguistic and cultural mix of our local immigrant community, and her research focuses on language justice, community service learning, languages for specific purposes and public humanities. Her most recent work takes the form of autoethnography, including a class which she teaches for the Campus Honors Program.
