CEAPS Events Calendar

CEAPS will host a panel discussion about identifying external funding resources and taking advantage of resources on campus for proposal development, submission, and management in the domain of East Asian Studies.  This workshop is open to all faculty and graduate student affiliates.  

This is an in person event only.

Our Panel:
Sowmya Anand
Director, Office of Proposal Development
Sowmya Anand leads the Office of Proposal Development, providing vision and strategic direction for the office. In that role, she manages the OPD team, coordinates campus-wide Research Development activities, and supports large-scale multidisciplinary funding opportunities that contribute to the Illinois research enterprise. She received her PhD in Social Psychology from The Ohio State University. She has over 20 years of experience writing and editing proposals, managing both small scale and large scale research projects involving the use of survey methodology, and writing and editing analytic reports. 

Barlow LeVold
Director, Foundation Relations
Barlow has been his director's role since 2013, before that a faculty member and communications staffer in the College of Business. Foundation Relations consults with anyone on campus interested in building relationships with private foundations& supporting faculty in developing and submitting grant proposals.

Maria Gillombardo
Senior Research Development Manager, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation
Maria works closely with faculty in the humanities, arts, and humanistic social sciences in support of their scholarly and creative research. She provides services in support of research project design and development that include identifying funding avenues, facilitating agency-specific information sessions, connecting faculty with campus colleagues and resources, and proposal development.
