This semester, during Latin American Story Time, we will be reading books by Duncan Tonatiuh, a Mexican-American author and illustrator of several award-winning children’s books. His illustrations are influenced by Pre-Columbian art, and his stories explore themes related to the Latino experience, including social justice, art, history, and immigration.

The first storytime will take place on September 13 at 2 p.m. in the Lewis Auditorium at the Urbana Free Library.

Come with your kids to listen to U of I Spanish students read the bilingual (Spanish-English) story Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote by award-winning author Duncan Tonatiuh, which explores the experiences and struggles faced by migrants. At the end, children will make a puppet of one of the character!

We hope to see you there!
