Kora virtuoso Ballaké Sissoko transports listeners across 700 years of Malian griot tradition and beyond through brilliant collaborations with dynamic artists such as Derek Gripper, a South African classical guitarist acclaimed for transcribing and recording legendary kora works performed by the masters.

This special event hosted by the Center for African Studies and International Area Studies Library is presented in conjunction with Sissoko and Gripper's concert at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 7:30 pm.
