Originating Calendar: Middle East Events; This presentation seeks to motivate Western audiences towards a deeper understanding of Middle Eastern music. Participants will gain new insights into the beauty and expression of Arabic maqams and traditional rhythmic structures. The workshop incorporates music listening and live music demonstration to help increase awareness of this seminal musical genre.
