Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS)

Participants will learn how a collective of artists, academics and cohort of local immigrants used narrative, visual and performance arts-based strategies to create study dialog circles on past, present and possible future pathways towards antiracist communities. They will learn about the “Building a Race and Immigration Dialog on Global Exclusions” (BRIDGE) project, review an exhibition of art produced our project, and collaboratively produce an artifact aimed at opening dialogs on the racial roots of US immigration policies.      

 This professional development workshop is primarily for K-12 educators and librarians. Illinois Teachers, in order to receive the PDH certificate, MUST provide their ISBE IEIN # when they sign in at the workshop.
