Are you curious about what’s it like to work on the administrative side of higher education and/or government? If so, come to this virtual coffee hour with University of Illinois alum Genie Melamed, International Admissions Advisor at Illinois Institute of Technology and former Staff Assistant in the Office of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth. About the series: These virtual coffee hours are intended to be an opportunity for students to meet and chat informally and network with working professionals from different fields. The virtual coffee hour will begin with a 15-minute presentation by the speaker, followed by 45 minutes of informal discussion and questions from students. Students are strongly encouraged to come with questions prepared.

About the speaker: Genie Melamed graduated with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Geography in 2018 and a Masters degree in European Union Studies in 2019. While at U of I she had the opportunity to travel to Belgium as part of a joint class with KU Leuven University and Germany as part of study abroad. After graduating she worked in the Office of Senator Tammy Duckworth in both Springfield and Chicago. She currently works as an International Admissions Advisor at Illinois Institute of Technology. Genie is originally from Springfield and currently lives in Chicago.
