The 6th Annual Korean Speech Contest will be held virtually at 7 pm CT on Thursday, March 31, 2022, organized by the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures [EALC] and sponsored by Center of East Asian and Pacific Studies [CEAPS]. This event is open to all. Students who currently take KOR courses will be given an extra-credit (2% added to a final course grade) for their participation in the Contest. In addition, a winner in each level will be awarded with a $20 gift card and eligible to compete in the Annual Mid-West Korean Speech Contest to be held virtually at 11 am CT on Saturday, April 16, 2021. The 1st place winners at each level in the Mid-West Korean Speech Contest will be awarded with a tuition-free opportunity to study in Korea during summer in addition to a cash award. There will be other miscellaneous awards to the contestants.
