European Union Center Events

This semester the EU Center is delighted to offer a series of publicly available “conversations” with Former Members of the European Parliament.

Moderated by EUC Associate Director Jonathan Larson, each conversation will focus on “cases” of past projects, legislation, initiatives, or crises that the Former MEP found particularly rewarding, vexing, or enlightening for understanding the negotiation of European unity and the role that multi-national institutions such as the European Parliament have played in it.

Please join the EU Center on February 16 at 12 P.M. CST for a moderated conversation with Hans-Olaf Henkel, German politician and Former Member of the European Parliament. Mr. Henkel will discuss the "Berliner Appell" campaign he initiated in 2011 to help free the Chinese artist and dissident Ai Weiwei.
