Originating Calendar: CEAPS Events Calendar; Kofi Bazzell-Smith is an artist, professional boxer, and MFA candidate in the New Media program at the University of Illinois. His area is Japanese manga, which he produces in both English and Japanese. Kofi has both boxed and studied manga with professionals in Japan and gives talks and workshops on manga, language, and international engagement. A recipient of the 2021 Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowship(FLAS), Kofi’s goal is to promote engagement through art and language on campus.
