In this talk, I will discuss quantum many body dynamics in the context of 1D spins chains. Particular interest will be given to the spread of correlations or "light-cones" in these systems. For concreteness I will focus on the simple, but rich, physics afforded by the transverse-field Ising model and discuss the light-cone velocity's dependence on initial state. I will conclude by discussing how spin chain dynamics can be realized using IBM's quantum computing architecture along with some of the progress achieved so far.
Note: this talk will be held in-person only.
