Midlatitude Temperature Distributions and Large-Scale Physics
Accurate projections of extreme temperature events are critical for risk management and policy formulation. However, climate models consistently exhibit systemic uncertainties and biases, making their predictions unreliable. While numerous numerical methods exist to tackle these issues, a theory rooted in first-principles physics about midlatitude temperature variability has been lacking. In this talk, I will show a framework for midlatitude temperature variability derived from fundamental physics and demonstrate how it can help improve climate models in predicting extreme temperature events more accurately. The presentation will feature my beloved furry assistant, Neutrina Kircher.
