About the SBIR/STTR Training Series

The SBIR and STTR programs, often referred to as “America’s Seed Fund,” are an excellent source of undiluted funding, but are highly competitive. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs provide non-dilutive capital to encourage small businesses to further R&D with the potential for commercialization. Securing federal grant funding for your small business’ innovative idea or technology is a critical step towards commercial success. Learn in this training series the eligibility requirements to apply for SBIR/STTR funding, the parameters of the awards and contracts available through federal agencies, budget preparation, and tips and tricks for a successful application process. Training will be provided by SBIR expert and medical startup consultant, Anna Lisa Somera. Participants in this training event will be eligible to receive free follow up direct consulting on SBIR/STTR applications following the event. This free training series is offered as a partnership with the SBA IL FAST Center at UIUC, the University of Illinois Chicago, World Business Chicago, and Portal Innovations.
