Colleen Egan is President and CEO for the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition and
Institute. She is an incredibly accomplished leader, entrepreneur, and innovator who is
especially interested in social impact and amplifying diverse voices and experiences. Colleen
began her career as an oncology nurse and pivoted to found her own healthcare startup after
discouragement about the slow adoption of technology in the healthcare field. Colleen also
co-founded and served as the COO for 212°, an award-winning design and technology
company with offices in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. Before leading ISTC, she served
as the COO for Zula USA, producing the first pre-K 3D CGI STEM education show for PBS, the
COO for Akoo International, designing, deploying and supporting the largest DOOH media
network in the U.S., and the Director of People, Culture, & Endless Possibilities at Clarity
Partners LLC. Colleen is a founding board member of the Women in Entrepreneurship
Institute at DePaul University, and she serves on a variety of boards and committees for U.S.
Congresswoman Robin Kelly’s LGBTQ task force, Chicago Tech Academy, Illinois Technology
Association, National Louis University’s M.S. Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship
Program, The Women’s Sports Foundation, and Chicago Innovation Women’s Mentoring CoOp. She received the 2018 Illinois Technology Association CityLIGHTS Prominent Woman in
Tech Award and the 2018 Connected World Woman of IoT Award, and Crain’s Chicago
Business named her Notable LGBTQ Executive in 2018 and 2019.
