Building an engaged community for your brand online and in-person can be the difference between your business profiting or perishing in today’s market. Afenya Montgomery is a creative, brand builder, people connector, and the founder of The iCAN Collective, a creative studio, co-working and event space, located in Chicago’s South Loop and Bridgeport neighborhoods. The iCAN Collective provides resources for women in business featuring conferences, workshops and seminars focused on entrepreneurship. Afenya has connected hundreds of people digitally and through live events, including a conference where early stage founders and established CEOs meet to “sprinkle magic on the entrepreneurial landscape.” Afenya has a background in healthcare. She began her nursing career as a nurse extern and climbed the nursing ladder to earn a Master of Science in Nursing and an MBA with a focus on executive leadership. Prior to becoming a nurse, Afenya obtained a marketing degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a fierce advocate for the advancement of Black women in leadership and entrepreneurship.
