Illinois Entrepreneurship 2

Everyone is constantly talking about “changing the world,” but how many people foster real and sustainable change? “Innovation” has become such a buzzword that we are losing sight of its real meaning and potential. With such huge goals, where does one start? Something has to change in order for there to be change! Michal will share what she has learned from years of social innovation work around the world. From Vietnam to Argentina, to Israel and Australia, she will share examples of Milestone Lab's successes and failures and explain why the best ideas come late at night. This talk will outline the methodology that Milestone Labs has developed to identify genuine global challenges and break them down to enable people to make a real difference. She will also highlight specific technologies that have changed the way we approach innovation and impact and the important role these technologies play in developing countries. Please join us to learn about practical approaches and tools to get started and for a discussion about how to leverage opportunities to work with others across campus on common goals for social impact.
