We’re continuing our local user group to foster collaboration and learning in the area of data science. In our first meetup of the year, we'll start by providing an update on community data science efforts locally. Then we'll hear from Wade Fagen-Ulmschneider, Assistance Professor of Computer Science, who will present classical ideas in data visualization, explore a common statistical dataset unique to Illinois, develop a compelling story to share, and create a visualization to share that story. Free to attend and lunch will be provided, so please RSVP at the CU-DSUG Meetup Page.
The aim of the user group is to build a community of interest around data science to foster learning, collaboration, and networking. The group will serve both students and professionals to bridge the gap between the analytical sciences and practical applications of industry.
Anyone is invited and included, from undergraduate students to seasoned professionals. There is no requirement for admission, only an interest in learning more about data science.
