This exhibition emerges from a cross-disciplinary course I co-instruct with colleagues in Physics, bringing together students from Art & Design and across the sciences.

Future Weird: Adventures in Space and Time explores the intersections of art, physics, astronomy, and emerging technologies through both individual and collaborative projects. Drawing from scientific frameworks and speculative storytelling, students investigate themes such as branching timelines, entanglement, instability, and the limits of perception.

The work considers questions like: What does it feel like to inhabit a warped timeline? To exist in multiple states at once? To encounter systems on the brink of collapse? Across media and approaches, the exhibition reflects a wide range of imaginative responses. Less a single vision of the future than a constellation of possibilities.

The reception is timed to lead into Studio Art’s visiting artist lecture by Devan Shimoyama, making it a great opportunity for students to engage with multiple events in one afternoon.
