1.0 CEs for LCSW/LSW and LCPC/LPCWhat can local history mean for the future of rural communities? Drawing on the Mythic Mississippi Project, a collaboration between the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois Springfield, this session explores how universities can work alongside rural communities to preserve and transform local histories into heritage resources that support social and economic development. The Central Illinois “Coal Triangle” offers a case study of the opportunities, challenges, and lessons of community-engaged heritage work.
