Andreev Bound State Spectroscopy using circuit-QED techniques
Abstract: Josephson junctions made from hybrid superconductor/semiconductor systems have promise for realizing Majorana-bound states, which may be used in topologically protected computing. However, achieving these Majorana states is quite challenging as there are strong requirements for low disorder and careful tuning of parameters. Andreev-bound states are trivial states that underpin the existence of Majorana-bound states. Utilizing techniques of superconducting circuit-QED, we can resolve the spectrum of Andreev states in junctions as we tune different parameters. We use this spectroscopy as a tool for characterizing and improving the junctions.
