Climate Action Week Main Event
Saturday, August 27, 1-4pm
This free celebration will include:
- Meet local artist Kim Curtis and contribute to her sculpture “Harvest: A Monument to Plastic Waste”
- Live music–unplugged!–from Backyard BBQ Band (1:15-2pm & 2:30-3:30pm)
- Guided hikes at 1pm, 2pm, & 3pm
- Free snacks and refreshments in partnership with Common Ground Food Co-Op
- Bicycle check-ups with Champaign County Bikes
- Voter registration, hands-on actvities, and more!
Additionally, 60-minute boat rentals (paddle boats, kayaks, & canoes) will be available at the 30-minute rental price!
This is an “open road” event –
The park road at Crystal Lake Park will be closed to through traffic on the day of the event to allow participants to safely bike, roll, and stroll.
