Bike Census Spring 2021: Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 10 am to 11 am
Bike Census is a collaborative, community-wide effort between Facilities & Services (F&S) and Champaign County Bikes that began in 2013 as part of ongoing improvement efforts to support the campus’ Bicycle Friendly University status.
Previous censuses counted more than 5,000 parked bicycles over a single hour. This year, volunteers will cover 29 specific campus areas and compile data using the ArcGIS Collector app. Due to COVID-19, we are not expecting to count as many bikes on-campus as previous years. This Bike Census will help us update the Bicycle Map with the most current bike parking locations and also help us identify locations that need more bike parking.
Individuals interested in volunteering for the census should fill out the Volunteer Sign up: Bike Census Spring 2021. Meet us virtually at 9 am on April 28, 2021 for a demonstration and volunteering instructions. This is very important for first-time volunteers. Volunteers will travel around the campus to look for off-rack and on-rack bicycles. 2 volunteers will be randomly selected to win Illinois Coffee mugs!
Help collect information to make the campus a better place! C-U on April 28, 2021!
