The National Institutes of Health offers fellowships for doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers in the life and biomedical sciences. Called the National Research Service Awards (NRSA) and also the Ruth L. Kirschstein Fellowships, awards are divided into three groups:
- The F31 supports PhD students and offers five years of support.
- The F30 supports MD/PhD and other dual doctoral degree students and offers six years of support.
- The F32 supports postdoctoral researchers and offers three years of support.
Applicants must be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents.
The Graduate College will host an information session on the NRSA fellowships on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 in Loomis Laboratory, Room 141. This in-person session will feature:
- Dr. Jim Slauch, Professor & Head of Microbiology and Director of the Medical Scholars Program
- Dr. Jodi Flaws, Professor of Comparative Biosciences
- Vicki Mourikes, NRSA Fellow and DVM/PhD student in Comparative Biosciences
