Screaming cicada enthusiasts unite! We're looking to get together multiple times June 1st-June 3rd to observe, do science, and marvel at the mass emergence of Magicicada 13-year Brood XIX, which is the largest of all periodical cicada broods, and 17-year Brood XIII.

June 1st - Brood XIX at Allerton Park & Retreat Center (515 Old Timber Rd, Monticello, IL 61856) 10am-4pm

• limited number of spaces to hear local cicada expert Katie Dana speak about Magicicadas.
• look for Massospora-infected cicadas and contribute to our iNaturalist project
• sample cicada-based cuisine created by local chefs (pending)
• Scream-like-a-Cicada Contest (Time TBD)
• displays from the INHS Insect Collection

June 2nd - Brood XIII meet-up at Nachusa Grasslands (2075 Lowden Rd, Franklin Grove, IL 61031) 10am-4pm

June 3rd - INHS Insect Collection Open House Cicada Extravaganza at Natural Resources Building (607 E Peabody Dr, Champaign, IL 61820) 9am-5pm
