Join Mark Davis, Conservation Biologist and Director of the Collaborative Conservation Laboratory at the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS), on Monday, January 24 at 7 PM CST via Zoom to learn about reptiles and amphibians of Illinois.
Illinois is home to an incredible diversity of reptiles and amphibians. This is due in large part to the state straddling both the great plains and southern cypress swamp ecotones. Here we will explore Illinois reptile and amphibian diversity, but also talk about the restoration efforts aimed at protecting these strange and fascinating creatures.
A little about our speaker: Mark Davis is a Conservation Biologist, Director of the Collaborative Conservation Laboratory at the Illinois Natural History Survey, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Mark earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at North Dakota State University, a Master’s degree at Colorado State University, and a PhD from the University o Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Since 2017, Mark has taught herpetology at the University of Illinois. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers, many of them focusing on amphibians and reptiles.
