Conferences and Symposiums (SEMINARS)

The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign will be hosting the fourth Great Lakes Political Economy Theory Conference (GLPET) on Saturday, April 1st, 2023

We hope to build on the success of previous GLPET conferences, held at the University of Chicago (Peter Buisseret) in 2019, Michigan State U. (Jon Eguia) in 2018 and at University of Western Ontario (David Raiha and Al Slivinski) in 2017.

Our format will be very similar to that of previous years: a one-day event, with 5 to 8 short presentations, and discussion over coffee breaks, lunch and dinner.  As in previous years, we will aim for a small imbalance that favors junior faculty. We also welcome submissions from promising graduate students.

We will cover coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner, but travel and lodging costs will be up to participants. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Illini Union Hotel on the UIUC campus. Please contact the Illini Union at (217) 333-1241 to reserve your room.

If you are interested in presenting or discussing, please let us know as soon as possible. If you are interested in presenting, please send us your submission in the form of a paper, an abstract, or a title, by January 31st, 2023.  Click here to submit.
