“Studying chemistry with quantum computers”
A common approach to research in the field of chemistry combines computational approaches with experiments to help explain observations and bring scientific insight. In most of these instances, computational studies rely on approximate models to understand complex and dynamic systems; a prime example is in polymer chemistry where experimental outcomes are governed by principles in both chemistry and physics. In this talk, I will discuss our motivation and research towards leveraging quantum computers to study chemical systems.
