This presentation will narrow in on the kinds of queer and transnational knowledges and ways of living embodied by these poli-creatives and nurtured within these mycorrhizal assemblages. I show how these poli-creatives use these knowledges to respond to their material conditions in greater LA and move towards collective survival. To do so, I unpack two interconnected examples: 1) self-determination, or economic and creative autonomy and 2) healing colonial and imperial intergenerational trauma through discomfort and joy.
