The Discovery Partners Institute invites you to join a Town Hall as the institute continues to evolve amid Chicago’s growing momentum as a global hub for technology and innovation, driven by investment in quantum and AI, a thriving startup ecosystem and global companies choosing the city as a base for growth. 

DPI and the University of Illinois remain focused on partnering with civic leaders, industry and academia to develop top-tier workforce talent, advance digital transformation and strengthen Chicago’s position in the global innovation economy. 

The town hall will provide updates on DPI’s direction and priorities, including an introduction to Prof. Gene Robinson, newly appointed executive director and CEO of the Discovery Partners Institute, pending Board of Trustees approval. A distinguished scholar and academic leader, Robinson brings deep experience in interdisciplinary research, partnership building and translating discovery into societal impact. 

Hosted by Rashid Bashir, vice chancellor for Chicago Strategic Partnerships and dean of The Grainger College of Engineering, the DPI Town Hall will offer an opportunity to hear directly from leadership, gain insight into DPI’s evolving role within the Chicago tech ecosystem and engage in discussion about what lies ahead.
