Molecular and Integrative Physiology (MIP) Department Seminar Series
Dr. Azambuja is a Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Pittsburgh - Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
Summary on Dr. Azambuja: My research program will combine concepts from neuroscience, immunology, and cancer biology to generate impactful new insights into the intricate relationships between the brain, the immune system, and cancer. My research program will take an interdisciplinary approach to investigate how brain tumors affect the immune system, particularly in the context of brain-mediated and age-related changes. By integrating knowledge from these different fields, we will develop innovative new therapeutic strategies, paving the way for the creation of more effective treatments. A complementary goal of my lab will be to train the next generation of researchers who strive to use multi-disciplinary, team-based, bench-to-bedside-to-bench approaches while creating a culture that fosters diversity, innovation and collaboration.
