Title: Asymptotic stability of linear systems with restricted connectivity
Abstract: We consider the question of whether a given network topology can support an asymptotically stable equilibrium in linear systems (both discrete and continuous). These problems are motivated by applications in the theory of decentralized networked systems.
A theory of such systems was developed by M.-A. Belabbas about 10 years ago. I will describe the main results of his theory and then describe our ongoing work on the switching (nonautonomous) version of this problem. If there is time, I will discuss some extensions to nonlinear problems. This is joint work with Belabbas, Liberzon (both ECE), and Bivziuk (MATH).
