Mark Dawson has taught at the ANU since 2005. In 2019 he published Bodies Complexioned: Human Variation and Racism in Early Modern English Culture, c. 1600-1750 (Manchester University Press), a rich and original study of the role of humoralism in the development of early modern English racial thought.
