Post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Eliza Benites from French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS)/Institute for Research on Techniques, and Territories and Societies (LATTS) Université Paris Gustave Eiffel will be presenting on ethnography, work, and housing.

Bio: "Dr Eliza Benites-Gambiraziois currently a post-doctoral researcher at the CNRS (French National French National Centre for Scientific Research), affiliated with the LATTS (Institue for Research on Techniques, Territories and Societies) at the Université Paris Gustave Eiffel. She recently completed a Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Arizona and at the Université of Paris 3 La Sorbonne. Her research focuses on the practices of professionals and market intermediaries in the real estate sector. Combining the sociological study ofmarket work with urban inequality and segregation studies, her work conceptualizes the variety of valuation mechanisms at stake in housing markets and their impacts at different scales on social inequality. She uses a variety of methods to address these issues, including statistical analysis, ethnography and interviewing. The results of her work, including her participation in large-scale national, (NSF, ANR [French National Research Agency]), or EU funded research projects have been publishedin top scholarly journals both in English and in French (e.g., Journal of Cultural Economy, Revue Française de Sociologie)."
