I am from a small farming community in central Illinois and Graduated in the spring of 1973. While at U of I, I won the General Engineering H. L. Marcus - L. P. Phillips Award as evaluated by fellow members of the G.E. senior class. I was president of ISGE, a Knight of St. Pat and a member of Triangle Fraternity as well as being very active in Engineering Council.

Upon Graduation, I was hired by Procter and Gamble Co. and enjoyed a 39-year career with this top 10 Global Consumer Products Company. While at P&G I experienced 3 “different careers” including roles in:

Engineering, where I spent 10 years in Project Management, Construction Management and Plant Engineering roles.

Manufacturing Operations, where over 13 years, I had various roles as a Production Team Manager, Department Manager, Plant Manager and ultimately Division Manager with roles across Snacks, Cookies, Bar Soaps/Chemicals and Juice Operations. These roles included numerous startups, consolidations and shutdowns, as well as leading the acquisition and integration of Sunny Delight and various Juice Brands into P&G.

Quality – during my last 16 years at P&G I had responsibility for all Quality functions in Health and Beauty Care, then Food and Beverage and finally as VP of Quality for P&G’s Fabric, Home Care, Duracell and Chemicals Businesses including both Research and Operational Facilities. These assignments included assuring we met all regulatory requirements, ensured technical readiness for all initiatives and monitored and supported the delivery of target product quality at all global operations. My last assignment led a global Quality organization that had responsibility for over 1000 manufacturing sites and 12 Research facilities across the globe. I also lead an Organization redesign for the Quality Function for all of P&G and a redesign of the Microbiology and Analytical organizations.

After retirement from P&G, I was the producer of a full future Film, BLUE, which won best picture at the Orlando Film Festival, was VP of Quality for a startup distribution company, and have created a Travel Company, “Karl’s Kruise & Travel”.

I enjoy working outside, playing in my wood shop, golf and importantly spending time with my Son, Kraig and Daughter- in law Joy; Daughter, Kirsten and Son-in-law Kris and their daughter Evelyn. My wife Karrin of 49 years and I love traveling and hanging out together.
