In this talk, I will discuss a formulation of particle dynamics in a medium with periodicity in both position and time, and under external perturbations which are slowly varying over the scale of the unit cells. When a particle or excitation is prepared in a quasi-energy band, its dynamics exhibit exotic behaviors unseen in Newtonian mechanics, with all sorts of geometric and topological structures.
