Quantum electrodynamics and perturbative quantum gravity are beset by infrared divergences. A consequence is the copious production of soft photons and gravitons which fly away undetected from any process where particles interact.  I will argue that the soft photons and gravitons are highly entangled with the reaction products that they leave behind and I will discuss the consequences of this entanglement.
