Neuroscience Program Seminars

The long-term goal of Dr. Chen's laboratory is to understand molecular and neural mechanisms by which somatosensory information such as itch and pain is encoded and transmitted from the skin to the brain.

His talk will focus on the role of the gastrin releasing peptide receptor (GRPR), the first itch-specific receptor identified in the spinal cord, in itch transmission. He will also discuss about the differences between itch and pain sensations.
