On April 10 Event Horizon Telescope collaboration released the first images of the 6 billion solar mass black hole in the nucleus of M87. I will review the results and discuss the physical interpretation of the images. In particular, I will discuss implications for the spin of the M87 black hole, and for our understanding of how extragalactic radio jets are launched. I will also discuss what we can expect from EHT in the near future.
