Designing for Learning

Effective learning experiences are intentionally designed around what learners need to know and be able to do. This session will explore how educational goals, learning activities, and learner experiences work together—and where misalignment can get in the way of learning. Participants will examine an existing learning activity and consider how it might be redesigned to better support what learners are expected to accomplish.

Try It Before You Attend

Before the session, take 3–5 minutes to reflect:

Think of a learning activity you currently use. Are learners actually doing what they need to do to achieve the intended learning?

There is nothing to submit. Simply come prepared with one learning activity or experience you would be willing to examine and redesign during the session.
