Artificial intelligence and advanced data systems hold great promise to propel the health care system to greater effectiveness, efficiency, and equity for patients and practitioners. Vilas Dhar will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and clinical care in this special Bleeding Edge Grand Rounds event held in conjunction with Carle Foundation Day.
Mr. Dhar is president and trustee of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, a 21st century philanthropy advancing AI and data solutions to create a thriving, equitable, and sustainable future for all. Prior to joining the foundation in 2017, Mr. Dhar founded and led a non-profit incubator and a sustainable public interest law firm. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law, a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and dual bachelor’s degrees in biomedical engineering and computer science from UIUC.
“Advancing Patient Care through Everyday Innovation” is the theme of Carle Foundation Day on May 7. The full-day event day features keynote presentations and breakout sessions led by Carle Illinois faculty and other health professionals.
