In this fireside chat, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Gies College of Business alum Luis Jaimes-Illanes, co-founder of Conecta Mentora and Senior Network Engineer at Altaeros, a leading aerospace company, will share how his involvement on campus helped prepare him for his work internationally.
Students interested in a career in international and/or humanitarian work are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
About Luis
Luis is the co-founder of Conecta Mentora, a program that brings together youth from urban, rural, and Indigenous communities with world-class mentors and institutions. He is also Senior Network Engineer at Altaeros. In 2025, he was recognized with the 2025 Charles C. Stewart International Young Humanitarian Award, part of the annual International Achievement Awards.
About The Event
Established in 2024 thanks in large part to the generous support of longtime University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus leader and benefactor, Charles C. Stewart, the speaker series aims to connect alumni working in global and international relations careers with current students, particularly those interested in a career in international and/or humanitarian work.
