This session will highlight the Global South Fellowship and Vision 2030 opportunities, with the goal of encouraging broader campus international academic engagement with the Global South. Current fellows will share insights into the application process, what motivated them to apply, and how they shaped their research careers from the Global South to the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Current fellows will reflect on their fellowship experiences, including the academic work they conducted at Illinois and its impact on their home institutions. The conversation will also explore why this research matters in a global context and how Vision 2030 supports these efforts.
