This workshop will be led by Sumit Kumar, a renowned award-winning graphic artist who runs his own creative studio “Bakarmax”-- a platform where stories are narrated as webcomics. Kumar is a visual storyteller whose art production ranges from political cartoons to superhero comics, from animal comics to everyday life animations. He has won multiple awards (including COMIC CON India Awards 2019 and 2018) for his webcomics and his company also collaborates with private corporations, brands, and organizations for merchandise, products, and advertising.

Check out more of Sumit Kumar's works here: https://bakarmax.com

What to expect: We promise an evening of fun art making with Sumit Kumar with snacks, stories, and wonderful art pieces that you get to take home!

What to bring: Nothing! You will be provided with all the art supplies (and you get to keep your art!)

How to reach:
Spurlock Museum is located at 600 S Gregory St, Urbana, IL 61801. The Collaboration and Community Gallery is on the second floor. It is accessible by stairs or elevator. Signage will be posted inside the museum, and there will be someone near the main doors to direct guests to the CCG. Free parking is available in university lot D22 next to the museum after 5pm (in any space without additional signage or meter). The same is true of the parking lots underneath Krannert Center.
