This spring, Homemade will launch installation additions with screenings of short films on view in the Contemporary Gallery by cyan cian, Tiffany Harris and Kamari Smalls.
a prayer with the Clearing by cyan cian (www.pariscw.com) is part prayer, part experimental moving image; non linear conversations with grandmother(s), Black land, space futures and possibilties.
Becoming by Tiffany Harris is a short film exploring Black femme relationships to land, nature, southerness and girlhood.
Glimpses by Kamari Smalls is a public cinematic sharing of what happened during Homemade’s fall 2020′s Studio Art Day’s with teenage girls and adult homegirls participating in Black girlhood space-making group, Saving Our Lives, Hear Our Truths (SOLHOT) in Champaign, Urbana.
The films will screen through a livestream on KAM’s youtube page and remain active online for a week after the screening event. This event is free and open to all.
